Overname arbitrage met opties. De kogel is door de kerk: een overweldigende meerderheid van de aandeelhouders van Glencore heeft vandaag ingestemd met de overname van Xstrata. De grondstoffenhandelaar biedt 3,05 eigen aandelen per aandeel in de mijnbouwer, waarmee de transactie een waarde heeft van $31 miljard

Van de stemgerechtigde aandeelhouders stemde 99,4% in met de aankoop. Glencore is al de grootste aandeelhouder van Xstrata met een belang van 34%. Glencore bood aanvankelijk 2,8 eigen aandelen per aandeel Xstrata, maar dat bod stuitte op weerstand. Onder meer het staatsinvesteringsfonds van Qatar, dat een belang van 12% heeft in Xstrata, vond het bod te laag. Vorige week stemde het fonds, dat 3,25 aandelen Glencore per aandeel Xstrata wilde, echter in met het herziene bod.
